Now Obvious Publishing

An owner-operated publishing tool

Everyday things,
made clear.

Now Obvious explains familiar things people rarely stop to think about, through original animated videos.

Now Obvious Publishing is the channel owner’s local software for preparing those videos and sending approved releases to the owner’s YouTube and Instagram accounts. It is not a public publishing service, and it offers no public accounts or signups.

What the tool does

The owner connects the intended channel or profile, selects a finished video and its publishing information, and runs the relevant workflow. The software checks account identity and upload status and can upload the owner’s videos, thumbnails, captions and associated metadata to the connected platform.

The YouTube connection uses Google authorization and the YouTube Data API. The Instagram connection uses Meta authorization and APIs; its direct video uploader uses a linked Facebook Page. Connections and uploads use the platforms’ HTTPS endpoints.

Why account access is requested

Account access lets the tool confirm where a release will go and perform the owner’s publishing actions. The YouTube permission is broader than upload-only access because the workflow also uploads separate caption tracks. Its available capabilities include deleting YouTube content; the implemented publishing workflows do not delete existing videos or posts.

Credentials are stored privately on the owner’s computer, outside the shared project. This informational website does not run authorization, accept credentials or receive access tokens. The owner may use AI assistance to create media and review selected publishing information; the privacy policy explains that processing.
